GREENACR
WALK

 To Hadley and Back

Our second of our two Greenacre Literary Autumn walks takes us slightly off the beaten track to  unspoilt green land, lakes, nature reserves and ancient woodland in New Barnet and Hadley.

Meet outside New Barnet Railway Station, Approach Road side, Sunday 3rd Nov. 2019 at 11-45am for a 12 midday start.

PRACTICAL MATTERS:

Please bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water with you on the day. The Footgolf Centre sells only crisps and soft drinks.

There are several hills along the route - and a couple of stretches with protruding trees roots across the path. You will need to be careful and surefooted in places.

If you have a favourite poem or reading, please get in touch or bring it along on the day. Tel:  020 8346 5503.

THE QUEEN'S HIGHWAY Sunday 13th October 2019 at 11-50am.

GREENACR
WALK

 The Queens Highway

This is the first of our two Autumn walks - 'The Queens Highway' takes us through ancient woodland on the home turf of East Finchley, Highgate, Hornsey and Muswell Hill.

Meet outside East Finchley tube station, Sunday 13th October 2019 at 11-50am.

This time of the year is all about trees and leaves so little wonder we will be heading for the woods. Starting from East Finchley tube station we will head for Cherry Trees Woods and then onto Highgate Wood and Queen's Wood where we will make our lunch stop at Queen's Wood Cafe where delicious home-made vegetarian meals will be served.

After lunch we head for the highest point of Queen's Wood before we make the slow descent through the woods and then follow a little known woodland pathway to all the tennis
courts and playing fields of Shepherd's Cot. We come out at Park Road and then head for Priory Park where we will make our tea stop.

After Tea we head for the lower slopes of Ally Pally and start a gentle climb up through Grove Park and onto the disused railway. We will leave thew railway at St James Lane and
head for the bus stop near Muswell Hill Odeon.

This is a lovely walk for this time of year and there will be amazing views from a couple of points along the route. The pace will be leisurely but there are some hills along the way.
There is a drop out point at Park Road before the tea stop and also at Priory Road after tea.
